International Medical & Scientific Board

The MSIF International Medical & Scientific Board (IMSB) is a unique group of medical professionals, bringing together over 60 experts in multiple sclerosis. Its purpose is to advise MSIF's Council and Board on matters of MS medical research, professional education, professional information and services.

All MSIF member societies nominate up to two representatives to the IMSB.

The IMSB recently met at ECTRIMS in Gothenburg, Sweden, in October 2010.

The IMSB Executive Committee is comprised of 8 members. The role of the Committee is to ensure that the IMSB and its work groups fulfil their stated role and responsibilities.

Professor Alan J. Thompson, MD, FRCP, FRCPI, is the Dean of the new Faculty of Brain Sciences at University College London.

Deputy Chairman of the IMSB

Prof Chris Polman is Professor of Neurology at the Free University and Clinical and Scientific Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Centre at the VU Medical Centre in Amsterdam.
