Kenneth Muscat, Malta

I am Kenneth Muscat from the island of Malta. I am 40 years old and have had MS for the past 17 years. I have been associated with the MS Society of Malta since it was founded in October 1997.

Between 1984 and 1990 I lived in San Francisco as I was studying at California State University. I obtained a BS (Hons) in Business Administration followed by an MBA.

Since returning from the States, I have worked in commercial banking and at the Ministry of Finance. I am currently a supervisor at a financial services firm specialising in equities and bonds.

Before I was diagnosed with MS, I was engaged in many activities, primarily playing soccer, walking, and even dancing.

As I confront the challenges of everyday life with MS, I have gradually begun to identify some strengths and talents I never knew I had, which I hope will be as equally rewarding. I am trying to look for ways within myself which MS cannot touch such as writing an article for a newspaper or journal, swimming, listening to music or watching a movie.

I would like to experience the freedom to grow as a person and always try to move forward. I will try not to let MS curtail who I am or what I want to do with my life.
