  The relationship between the Convention and MSIF’s QoL Principles

The chart below is not comprehensive, but indicates some of the key articles of the Convention which could be used to advocate for the Principles to Promote the Quality of Life of People with MS :

2People with MS have access to medical care, treatments and therapies appropriate to their needs.25.b Provide those health services needed by persons with disabilities specifically because of their disabilities, including early identification and intervention as appropriate (... )
3People with MS have access to a wide range of age-appropriate care services that enable them to function as independently as possible.19.b Persons with disabilities have access to a range of in-home, residential and other community support services, including personal assistance necessary to support living and inclusion in the community, and to prevent isolation or segregation from the Community;
4People with MS have the information and services they need to maintain positive health practices and a healthy lifestyle.25. Health

5Family members and caregivers receive information and support to mitigate the effects of MS.28.c To ensure access by persons with disabilities and their families living in situations of poverty to assistance from the State with disability- related expenses, including adequate training, counselling, financial assistance and respite care;
6People with MS have access to their communities through accessible public transportation and assistive technology for personal automobiles.20. Personal Mobility
7Support systems and services are available to enable people with MS to continue employment as long as they are productive and desire to work.27. Work and Employment
