In October 2010, leading MS professionals from across the globe gathered in Gothenburg, Sweden to attend the 26th Congress of the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) and the 15th Conference of Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS) Research in Multiple Sclerosis.
On 12 October 2010, prior to the Congresses, the Neurologiskt Handikappades Riksförbund - NHR (the Swedish Association of Persons with Neurological Disabilities), in collaboration with MSIF, held a Living with MS Day, at which MS experts from Sweden, the UK and Germany presented on topics including the pathogenesis of MS and stem cell transplantation.
The Day, aimed at people with and affected by MS, healthcare professionals, politicians and all those with an interest in MS, was a great success with more than 450 delegates in attendance, including 100 international delegates.
