Society Aims & Objectives:
 
General aims:

  • to establish a reference centre to provide assistance and support for people with MS

  • to make available advances and progress made in MS research

  • to provide the means for people with MS to have better quality of life


Short Term Objectives:

  • to unite and involve people with MS, their families and friends through a social support system and the ALEM family

  • to develop an ALEM magazine

  • to make ALEM known in the state, national and international MS community

  • to better integrate people with MS

  • to form MS support groups

  • to obtain a means of transport so that all people with MS can participate in ALEM’s activities


Medium Term Objectives:

  • to form interdisciplinary groups on topics such as nutrition, sociology, neurology, law, physical therapy, rehabilitation and psychology

  • to publicise and broadcast information about ALEM and MS

  • to work with pharmaceutical laboratories involved in the production of treatments to improve the quality of life for people with MS

  • to encourage economic cooperation with individuals, private and public companies, governmental and non governmental institutions with regards to developing ALEM’s activities

  • to visit people with MS in their homes if they are unable to attend conferences or participate in activities.


Long Term Objectives:

  • to unite the national and international MS associations in order to exchange experiences, unite efforts, share knowledge and keep up to date on the latest scientific advances
