Dysregulated T cell expression of TIM3 in multiple sclerosis.
This study looked at the cerebrospinal fluid of people with MS and found abnormal regulation of a protein associated with the immune system’s Th1 helper cells, which usually help to promote tolerance (prevention of the immune system attacking itself). The authors hypothesise that this contributes to the autoimmune pathogenesis of MS.

Effects of interferon-beta on oligodendroglial cells
This rat study investigated the effect of interferon on oligodendrocytes, the remyelinating cells of the central nervous system. They found only an indirect effect of interferon on differentiation of oligodendrocytes from their precursors in the presence of other cells, astrocytes and microglia, which needs to be clarified with human studies.
