Progression in multiple sclerosis: Further evidence of an age dependent process

This study gives further support to the notion that the older people are at the onset of MS the shorter the time to progression, independent of the number of relapses.

N-acetylaspartic acid in cerebrospinal fluid of multiple sclerosis patients determined by gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry

The authors looked for N-acetylaspartic acid, a neuron specific marker, in the cerebrospinal fluid of people with different subtypes of MS. They found correlations with clinical disability and with imaging measures of lesion load. They concluded that it is therefore an important marker of disease severity.
