New MSIF Japanese website

Japanese homepageMSIF is delighted to announce the launch of the new Japanese-language version of our website.

Interferon-beta therapy reduces CD4(+) and CD8(+) T-cell reactivity in multiple sclerosis

The authors looked at the mechanism of action of interferon-beta in preventing relapses in MS. They found that it may work via a reduction in the number of immune cells in the bloodstream which are activated against the external layer of the neurons.

Vitamin D levels in people with multiple sclerosis and community controls in Tasmania, Australia

This study found that higher disability in people with MS was associated with reduced sun exposure and therefore also low vitamin D levels.

Pharmacodynamics of interferon beta in multiple sclerosis patients with or without serum neutralizing antibodies

The authors looked at antibodies directed against interferon-beta and found that their presence reduced the levels of markers of its biological efficacy in people with MS on treatment.

Involvement of morbilliviruses in the pathogenesis of demyelinating disease

The authors looked at the possible role of some viruses, from the morbillivirus family, in the pathogenesis of various diseases which affect the central nervous system in the same manner as MS.
