Summaries of all the latest research findings on MS selected by a team based at the Institute of Neurology, London.
Voxel-based analysis of the evolution of magnetization transfer ratio to quantify remyelination and demyelination with histopathological validation in a multiple sclerosis lesion

The authors, using a new MRI technique, looked at the development of pathological processes in a brain inflammatory MS lesion. They found that this technique was useful in monitoring the evolution of MS damage in the brain.

Independent contributions of cortical gray matter atrophy and ventricle enlargement for predicting neuropsychological impairment in multiple sclerosis

The authors studied correlations between neuronal damage and cognitive decline in people with MS. They found that some measures of nerve damage seem to correlate with cognitive impairment better than others.

Vagal nerve stimulation improves cerebellar tremor and dysphagia in multiple sclerosis

The authors looked at the effect of stimulating the vagus nerve on the treatment of severe tremor in a small group of people with MS. They found that this approach could be of some benefit in treating this symptom.

Multidisciplinary fatigue management programme in multiple sclerosis: a randomized clinical trial

This negative study looked at the impact of a multidisciplinary management programme in the treatment of fatigue in people with MS. They found that there was no particular advantage in using this approach to treat fatigue.
