A prospective study of patterns of fatigue in multiple sclerosis

The authors looked at fatigue, one of the most frequent and disabling symptoms in people with MS. They found a correlation between higher fatigue and higher degree of depression and physical disability.

Functional consequences of S1P receptor modulation in rat oligodendroglial lineage cells.

The authors studied the mechanism of function of fingolimod, a recently introduced preventive therapy for MS. They found that it influences in different ways the development of the myelin producing cells in the brain.

Therapeutic Effect of Anthracene-Based Anticancer Agent Ethonafide in an Animal Model of Multiple Sclerosis

The authors studied the effects of an anticancer drug in a mice model of MS. They found that it was effective in preventing the development of the disease and in reducing its severity, if already present.

Cognitive impairment in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis can be predicted by imaging performed several years earlier

The authors studied cognitive function in people with MS. They found that some MRI metrics, in particular the reduction of brain volume, can predict the development of specific cognitive dysfunctions after five years.

Serbia: Tanya Dakic

MSIF was saddened to hear the news that Tanya Dakic, President of the Serbian MS Society passed away on Monday 26 November, following a battle with lung cancer.
