Research News

The incidence and significance of anti-natalizumab antibodies: results from AFFIRM and SENTINEL.

This study investigates the incidence of similar antibodies to those described above, this time in association with the new generation drug Natalizumab. Fingolimod: a novel immunosuppressant for multiple sclerosis.

This study reviews the evidence for a new oral agent which is currently being trialled for treating MS: Fingolimod. It acts by reducing the number of circulating lymphocytes, and so suppresses the immune system. Adversely, it can affect the heart rhythm and suppress the production of white blood cells which fight infection.
