Corticosteroids for the long-term treatment in multiple sclerosis.
This review summarises findings from studies done on the role of steroids in the long term management of MS. It concludes that there is not enough evidence to suggest that steroids are useful in delaying progression to long term disability.

Homogeneity of active demyelinating lesions in established multiple sclerosis.
This post mortem study on 27 subjects with MS demonstrated a uniformity of immunopathological findings in brain lesions across subjects. To some extent this argues against a previous hypothesis that there are four separate immunopathological lesion types, with individual patients exhibiting only one type of lesion.

Impairment of movement-associated brain deactivation in multiple sclerosis: further evidence for a functional pathology of interhemispheric neuronal inhibition.
This study from several European centres examines control of hand movements in 56 people with MS using functional MRI. The authors conclude that in MS there is impairment of mechanisms which inhibit nerve function, and this may reduce movement control.
