Brain responses to verbal stimuli among multiple sclerosis patients with pseudobulbar affect.

The authors studied the brain structures involved in emotional lability in people with MS using neurophysiological testing. They identified the involvement of areas related to sensory-motor and emotional processing.

Intra-cortical connectivity in multiple sclerosis: a neurophysiological approach.

The authors compared the transmission of brain stimuli between people with and without MS using magnetoencephalography. They found a decrease of conduction in people with MS which was related to the lesion burden.

Effects of l-amphetamine sulfate on cognitive function in multiple sclerosis patients.

In this preliminary study the authors investigated the effects of l-amphetamine sulphate in people with MS who had difficulties in memory and processing speed. They found that the drug improved processing speed, but further studies are needed to confirm this.

Remyelination protects axons from demyelination-associated axon degeneration.

This study in mice found that the failure of remyelination after a demyelinating injury contributed to axonal degeneration.

The role of disability and depression in cognitive functioning within 2 years after multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

The authors investigated cognitive function, including attention, memory and concentration, in people with MS shortly after diagnosis. They found that depressive symptoms and disability were associated with poor performance on the cognitive assessment in people with MS.
