Incidental MRI anomalies suggestive of multiple sclerosis. The radiologically isolated syndrome

The authors studied the risk of developing MS in people with asymptomatic evidence of inflammation on brain MRI. They found progression in the MRI appearances in 60% of people and development of neurological symptoms in 10%. Further studies are needed to fully define this risk.

Strabismus surgery for internuclear ophthalmoplegia with exotropia in multiple sclerosis

The authors reported the results of surgery in three people with MS who had severe double vision because of a specific eye movement abnormality. All of them improved and the authors concluded that surgery should be considered as an option in certain cases of double vision.

The onset location of multiple sclerosis predicts the location of subsequent relapses

This study showed that people with MS whose first relapse is in the spinal cord or optic nerve have more risk of having a second episode in the same location.

Physical activity and quality of life in multiple sclerosis: intermediary roles of disability, fatigue, mood, pain, self-efficacy and social support

The authors studied whether there was an association between physical activity and quality of life in people with MS. They found that people who were more active had lower disability, depression, fatigue and pain.

Impaired hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activity in patients with multiple sclerosis

This study showed an increase in the activity of a pathway related to cortisol production, a hormone which regulates metabolism, in people with MS.
