On 29 October 2009, 140 people attended the launch of Marlo Parmelee's book ‘Awkward Bitch – My Life with MS,’ at the Donna Karan New York (DKNY) clothes store in London.

"The book launch was a fantastic event; so many people turned out in support of Marlo and the MS Society. During the evening, Marlo read an extract from the book which was both funny and poignant and we’re sure many people with MS will find her a great inspiration. We’d like to thank DKNY and Marlo for their support," Saul Heselden, Head of Partnership Giving, UK MS Society.
Over UK£1,500 was raised for the UK MS Society from 10% of book and clothes sales at both this event and a pre-launch event in Manchester on 24 September 2009.
The event was attended by a mix of MS Society supporters and DKNY clients.
