The fundraising efforts of the Sweetman family were celebrated at a ceremony in the MS Care Centre in Rathgar, Ireland.
The funds were raised by Noel Sweetman and his sister Bernie Woodcock, who has MS, over two years through events including a trek to Kilimanjaro and a gala ball, as previously reported on 15 October 2008.
"This fundraising drive was an incredible achievement ... It represents the single largest donation to MS Ireland in the last two years and shows the power of a group of motivated and committed individuals. All money raised from the events will go towards supporting the work of MS Ireland in providing much needed services and resources to people with MS as well as their families and carers."
