Fast Forward, the commercial drug development arm of the US National MS Society, has issued a call for research proposals for novel therapeutic approaches to prevent, treat or reverse nervous system damage in MS.
Focus areas for 2010 are:
development of therapeutic strategies to modulate the innate immune system in the CNS;
therapeutic strategies to promote axonal protection, restoration, and function, through CNS-targeted mechanisms including modulation of CNS ion channels.
The call is part of the collaboration with EMD Serono and is open to academic researchers and companies with an interest in the appropriate topic areas and also has no geographic limitations.
The deadline for preliminary proposals is 1 June 2010. Fast Forward will be holding informational teleconferences on 19 March and 23 April for interested parties.
