More than 40,000 people are expected to raise funds and MS awareness on 12 July 2009 for the Spanish MS Federation’s annual "Get wet for MS" sponsored swimming campaign.
Anybody can support the campaign by swimming for MS, buying merchandise or taking part in the organised activities in 875 swimming pools and beaches across Spain. Funds raised will be used to improve the quality of life of people with MS and for MS research.
"Mójate por la Esclerosis Múltiple" (Get wet for MS) was launched by the Spanish MS Federation, Federación Española para la Lucha contra la Esclerosis Múltiple (FELEM), in 1994. The campaign has been successful in raising funds, engaging civic participation and won an award from Medical Economics magazine, as reported in February 2009.
