MSIF is excited to be collaborating with MS Global 2006, an initiative originally founded by Tyler Hamilton and the Central New England Chapter of the National MS Society in 2002, and now run by the Tyler Hamilton Foundation (THF).
Tyler, a US professional road bicycle racer and Olympic gold medallist, wanted to unite cyclists from around the world in an effort to raise funds for MS research and to increase public awareness worldwide about the devastating effects of the disease.
For the last three years, cyclists from 11 countries have gathered for a week every autumn to participate in the THF's MS Global. This year’s event, from September 15-22, will take cyclists from all over the world through Switzerland, Italy and France.
Net proceeds from MS Global 2006 will support MSIF’s Jacqueline du Pré Fellowship and Grants. These awards are offered to young researchers working in the field of MS. For more information, please click here.
Each of the cyclists taking part in MS Global 2006 will be cycling for “pedal partners” – people with MS from all over the world. If you are interested in being a “pedal partner”, please contact Michelle Leighton on michelle@teamladybug.com
