The MS Society of India’s ninth Chapter was formally inaugurated at Mangalore on 12 March 2009.
The inauguration took place at the Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital in Mangalore, India. It was attended by 150 people affected by MS, medical professionals, students and MSSI representatives. Speakers included neurologist Dr B.S. Singhal, who gave a talk on MS in India and Sheela Chitnis, CEO and National Honorary Secretary, MSSI, who spoke about the support and services available from MSSI.
The chapter was the initiative of Dr Lekha Pandit, who is a member of MSSI's All India Medical Panel and MSIF's International Medical and Scientific Board.
