On 1 November 2009 more than 50 people raised awareness and funds for MS by taking part in the New York Marathon. These included Indian actor and model Milind Soman, representatives from the Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society and Zoe Koplowitz, who has MS and completed her 21st New York Marathon in 28 hours and 45 minutes.
