  Protein comparison signals new target for treating MS
US researchers undertaking a comparison of the 2,538 proteins from persons with MS against healthy brains have discovered two damaged proteins never previously linked to MS.

The proteins specifically relate to blood clotting and inflammatory pathways. This finding could signal the way for new treatments in MS, and initial tests to inhibit the protein damage in experimental models of MS gave promising results.
