Since February 2005, the MS Association of Lanka has had a growing membership of approximately 20 people with MS and 30 supporting members and exists to give support to patients and families in need of support.

The Association is planning an awareness campaign early in 2007, because for many people living in Sri Lanka, there is a stigma attached to having a disease like MS.

They would also like to hear from any people with MS or their family members. Nuala Thevathasan, Honorary Secretary said, "We are convinced we will be able to assist them to get the best out of life yet, while sharing in their concerns and symptoms."
