The US National MS Society (NMSS) organised a think tank in collaboration with the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center to examine how to deliver new MS therapies.
The think tank is part of Fast Forward, an NMSS initiative to speed the delivery of new treatments to people with MS. Participants came from venture capital firms, patient advocacy groups, medical insitutions and pharmaceutical companies. Joyce Nelson, President and CEO, NMSS, advised participants that "it takes an average of 16 years, and up to $1.5 billion, to bring a promising new drug to market and only one out of every 10,000 make it that far."
