On 23 May 2009, Cathy Goodrich, a volunteer from the National MS Society’s (NMSS) Greater Washington Chapter, visited the Palestine Multiple Sclerosis Society (PMSS) headquarters in Nablus City.

Cathy spent a day with Society volunteers and met with the President, Ali Hijjawi, and Communications Officer, Philip Khoury. Cathy took NMSS materials on self-help groups and yoga with her to share with the volunteers.
Cathy said: "As a woman with MS, I found it rewarding and fascinating to glimpse into the lives of others who share the experience of MS, but in such a different cultural, economic and geographic backdrop. Whether we live in Seattle, London or in the Palestinian Territory, we really are in this endeavour together, as we build community support for people living with MS; and empower them to live the lives they want to lead despite their diagnosis. The hard work that Ali, Philip and the other volunteers are putting in to building a strong foundation for an MS organisation in the Palestinian Territory is truly inspiring. They may face great challenges but their spirit is indomitable."
As a result of the visit, the MSPF is going to translate a number of NMSS materials into Arabic.
