Huge deficit reported in services to an estimated 10,000 people with MS in Ireland.
A European Union conference on MS highlighted the discrepancies in service, healthcare and research across Europe. Ireland was one of the countries mentioned in the report. With only 17 Neurologists servicing an estimated MS population of 10,000 people, Ireland has one of the most under staffed and inaccessible neurological services in Europe. The Czech Republic by comparison has 335 neurologists for an MS population of 13,000 people.
