 The MS Society of Canada has been part of the MS Global Dinner Party since its inception in 2003. Every year the Society co-ordinates a nationwide drive to encourage people to get together with friends, family or work colleagues and host an event. In 2007 the Society raised over CAN$51,000, setting a new fundraising record for the country.
This year the Canadian GDP has a new logo and all the information and materials hosts need are available at The Global Dinner Party page on the MS Society of Canada website.
The website also allows hosts to create a webpage for their event. They can use their page to promote their event, email invitations and track their fundraising; guests can also contribute online.
Not only are individuals invited to participate, but restaurants are encouraged to join in by choosing to donate a percentage of sales from 23 February, or including a special insert with every bill for customers to take away and consider making a donation.
