MSIF is pleased to announce the winner of the James D. Wolfensohn Award for International Person with MS as Ninfa Monarres Madrid from Mexico.

MSIF received 16 nominations for the award from MS organisations across the globe, including Argentina, Belgium, Germany, India, Morocco and Russia.
Ninfa will receive a grant to enable her, and an accompanying person, to attend MSIF’s biennial Council, Board and Committee Meetings, in Chicago, USA in November 2009. In addition, Ninfa will also receive UK£500 towards the cost of a product, service or activity which it is hoped will serve to enhance the influence and position of people with MS within national MS societies. She has chosen to put the monies towards purchasing equipment such as bath seats, wheelchairs, walking sticks and frames for people with MS in Mexico. This is the first year that the winner has been given the opportunity to invest in their national MS society and the change came about as a result of the September 2008 PwMSIC Meeting held in Montreal, Canada.
