MS often affects people when they are in the first decades of their working lives. A global survey conducted by MSIF found that for the majority of people with MS, the disease has affected their working lives, forcing them to reduce their working hours, change jobs, or retire permanently.

As well as the devastating personal effects, the cost to society of losing people from the workforce is enormous.
