Pedro Carrascal, MSIF Board member and CEO of the Spanish Federación Española para la lucha contra la Esclerosis Múltiple (FELEM), Margarita Ruiz and María Elena Moscoso, President and CEO of Esclerosis Múltiple (EM) Cuba, and Zoe Burr, MSIF International Development Manager, met during the recent MSIF meetings in Chicago to initiate a period of collaboration between FELEM and EM Cuba.

The meeting was very important in establishing the needs of EM Cuba and much was learnt about the environment in which the Society operates. As well as sharing best practice with EM Cuba, FELEM hopes to provide the Society with publications and materials for their office. MSIF is to be involved in ensuring that EM Cuba has better access to current and relevant MS information in Spanish.
The Cuban delegates’ attendance in Chicago was supported by an individual donation and match-funded by MSIF as part of the 2009 MSIF Twinning Programme.
