Dr Lekha Pandit, one of the recipients of a 2009 Du Pré Grant visited the MSIF office last week to talk about her experiences as a visiting scholar at Cambridge University and to discuss opportunities for working together in the future.

The MSIF Du Pré Grant made it possible for Lekha, a clinical neurologist from the KS Hegde Medical Academy in Mangalore, India, to spend three months at the University of Cambridge, UK, working with Dr Stephen Sawcer on the role of HLA genes (genes involved in the immune response) in Indian Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr Pandit is also on the National Medical Board of the MS Society of India and the secretary of MSSI’s Mangalore Chapter.
