1800 people took part in the UK MS Society’s MS Life conference in Gateshead, UK from 12-14 June 2009. Helen Regan, MSIF Advocacy and Communications Manager, reports.

The event started with a fashion show featuring models affected by MS on 12 June. The weekend also featured research and awareness sessions including: vitamin D and genetics, stem cells, sex, intimacy and relationships as well as an interactive Tai Chi presentation. Attendees included people affected by MS, MS Society staff, medical and health professionals.
 Hilary Armstrong MP, and Stuart Nixon, Vice Chairman, UK MS Society, start the one mile wheel and walk fundraising event round the Gateshead and Newcastle quayside.
Participants also had the opportunity to take part in a wheel and walk fundraising event, attend an inclusive nightclub and visit an exhibition in which they could meet scientists, physiotherapists and MS nurses.
