MSIF's 40th anniversary took place earlier this month.
Forty years ago on 9 August 1967, the International Federation of MS Societies (now called the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation, or MSIF) was established with the first meeting of its Executive Committee in the Moses Room of the House of Lords in London, England. When the vote to incorporate the International Federation was taken, a telegram was received which read: "Mission accomplished. International Federation fully organized. Full steam ahead to conquer multiple sclerosis worldwide".
The occasion will be marked with celebrations during the MSIF meetings held in Prague in October 2007.
