MSIF was pleased to author and review the chapter on MS in the new World Health Organization's report, Neurological Disorders: Public Health Challenges.
The report found that neurological disorders, including MS, affect up to one billion people worldwide, irrespective of age, sex, education or income.
It also found that access to appropriate care and treatment was difficult for many people. The reasons for non-availability of treatment included inadequate health delivery systems, lack of trained personnel, the absence of essential drugs and traditional beliefs and practices.
