In 2009, MSIF launched its Twinning Programme. Since its launch, collaborative work has taken place between MS societies in Cuba, India, Spain and the USA. MSIF now welcomes funding applications from MS societies wanting to apply for twinning projects in 2010.
The Federación Española para la Lucha contra la Esclerosis Múltiple (EM) is currently twinning with EM Cuba and the US National MS Society has twinned with the MS Society of India.
Through the programme MS societies are encouraged to share skills and knowledge in all aspects of work involved in operating a successful national MS society. Societies have the flexibility to decide on the process by which a twinning partnership comes into being, enabling them to develop the relationship in a way that best suits their mutual challenges and opportunities.
Applications to participate in the programme can be submitted throughout the year and societies can apply whether or not a potential twinning partner has been identified. MS societies wishing to be considered for MSIF funding support in 2010 should submit their application forms by Friday 30 April 2010.
