The German ICF Research Branch (DIMDI) of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for the Family of International Classifications has released its first newsletter, designed to inform readers regularly of new projects and progress on 12 chronic conditions, including MS.
The institute, along with the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, strives for the promotion of health, the restoration of functioning and the prevention of disability, seeking a better understanding of disability through multidisciplinary research.

The newsletter notes that the four preparatory studies of the project “Development of ICF Core Sets for MS” (which will result in ICF Core Sets for Multiple Sclerosis) is near completion. This project is the result of the cooperative effort of the Department of Neurorehabilitation at the Valens Rehabilitation Centre and the ICF Research Branch and was also part-funded by MSIF.
