Has your MS society signed up to participate in the first ever World MS Day on Wednesday 27 May 2009?
The momentum continues to build for the first ever World MS Day. The MS Society of Malta is the latest national MS Society signed up to participate, the World MS Day website is now under development and more global events are being planned. So far, the following activities and events are set to take place:
Argentina: requested day be formally recognised by government
Australia: reception in Queensland
Belgium, Canada, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland: "Roll for MS"
sponsored cycle/ motorbike event
Denmark: fundraising event
Finland: city-wide awareness raising event
Hungary: event in parliament
India: human chain awareness raising events
Ireland: activity to promote member development
Italy: moved national awareness week to include the day
Netherlands: Global Dinner Party/ Second Life event
Romania: Global Dinner Party
Slovakia: Dignified Life with MS seminar
Sri Lanka: week long awareness raising events
Sweden: fundraising event
Turkey: concert and gala dinner
World MS Day will raise awareness about MS and build global solidarity for the MS movement. Mark your calendar now and tell your family, friends and colleagues to do the same.
