  Professor Alan Thompson appointed as Director of the Institute of Neurology, London

We are delighted to announce that Professor Alan Thompson has been appointed to the position of Director of the Institute of Neurology. He will take up his new role from 1 April 2008.

Professor Thompson is the Garfield Weston Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurorehabilitation at the Institute of Neurology, where he is head of the Research Department of Brain Repair and Rehabilitation. Among his many other interests and duties, Professor Thompson is the Chair of our International Medical and Scientific Board (IMSB) and a consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where he was Clinical Director from 2003-2007.

He teaches nationally and internationally, and is frequently invited to lecture world-wide.
