  Professor Chris Polman becomes Deputy Chair of IMSB
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Chris Polman to the position of Deputy Chairman of the International Medical and Scientific Board (IMSB), following the restructuring of the IMSB that commenced in 2006.

Prof. Polman gained his medical degree in 1982 from Nijmegen University in The Netherlands and was awarded his PhD in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in 1988. He is currently Professor of Neurology at the Free University as well as Clinical and Scientific Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Centre at the VU Medical Centre in Amsterdam. Prof. Polman is one of Europe’s leading MS specialists with over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications on MS.

Prof. Polman has played an important role in shaping the new research strategy of MSIF and gave a presentation about this at our April 2007 board meeting.
