MSIF collects information on users in two ways: through cookies, and through registration. For more information see below:
Cookies
‘Cookies’ are small pieces of information that are stored by your Internet browser on your computer. They make it possible for the World of MS website to identify registered users and provide them with preferential information e.g. language choice or text size without the need to login.
The minimum information needed to register a user is a username and/or email address, and a password. Only the username, language preference, and navigation information such as last visit and registration date will be stored within the cookie.
MSIF will use cookies to track users as they travel through the site – for instance, to count the total number of unique users who are accessing the website over a particular period of time.
If you are concerned about cookies, they can be turned off (see the help section in your browser). However, if you do this please note some of the areas of the website may not work as intended.
Currently all sections of the site are public access and as such any communication or material that you transmit to, or post on, any area of the site including but not restricted to data, questions, comments, suggestions and contact information or images, and will be treated as, non-confidential and non-proprietary unless specifically specified on the site.
Registration
Registration is not necessary to view any of the information on the World of MS website.
However until registration is completed your ability to interact with some sections of the website will be severely restricted, you will be unable to submit a profile, order publications or take part in future interactive services. This precaution is necessary to eliminate spurious information from being submitted.
Information submitted at registration or in specific interactive sections of the site will not be publicly accessible unless explicitly stated at the time of submittal or specified by the registrant. The option for the user to unpublish or change their information is available online.
