  Anti-aquaporin 4 antibody in Japanese multiple sclerosis: the presence of optic spinal multiple sclerosis without long spinal cord lesions and anti-aquaporin 4 antibody

summary: The authors looked at the clinical features of people with MS and similar diseases in the presence of a particular antibody (called AQP4, associated with neuromyelitis optica) in a Japanese population. They found that these antibodies are markers of extensive spinal cord involvement and frequent exacerbations.
