Autologous non-myeloablative haemopoietic stem cell transplantation in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis: a phase I/II study

summary: This preliminary study investigated the safety and efficacy of stem cell transplantation in people with relapsing-remitting MS who did not respond to beta-interferon. It was found that it stopped progression and improved disability. However, some important side effects were reported. Further and larger studies are needed to confirm these results.
