summary: Some people with MS may develop a level of cognitive dysfunction over the disease course. In this study, the authors found that people with MS and with symptoms suggestive of cerebellar involvement had more pronounced cognitive dysfunction in specific domains such as attention and verbal fluency, than people with MS lacking cerebellar symptoms. For this reason, the authors suggested that cerebellar symptoms in people with MS should be assessed carefully in clinical practice, in order to perform a neuropsychological evaluation as soon as the need arises.
