Does high-field MR imaging improve cortical lesion detection in multiple sclerosis?

summary: This study examines whether use of a stronger magnet (4.7 T compared to 1.5T) improves the sensitivity of MRI scans for detecting lesions within the cortical grey matter. Even at the higher field strength, 80% of cortical lesions identified on histology were undetected by MRI.
