Effect of glatiramer acetate on conversion to clinically definite multiple sclerosis in patients with clinically isolated syndrome (PreCISe study): a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

summary: Glatiramer acetate is one of the accepted treatments for relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), but its efficacy after a first relapse has not yet been demonstrated. With a randomised, multicentre, double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial, the authors demonstrated that GA significantly delays the appearance of a second relapse when given after a first episode. These results may have important consequences from the point of view of clinical practice.
