Inhibitory role for GABA in autoimmune inflammation

summary: MS is an inflammatory-demyelinating disease of the central nervous system whose underlying pathogenic mechanisms are far from being completely understood. Through the study of animal models of MS, the authors suggest that GABA, the principal inhibitory neurotransmitter in the adult brain, may have an important influence on the inflammatory processes that occur in MS.
