  NMO-IgG predicts the outcome of recurrent optic neuritis.

summary: The authors investigated the role of a specific antibody in people who had at least two episodes of optic neuritis but had not developed MS. They found that the presences of these antibodies predicted poor visual outcome and the development of Neuromyelitis optica which is a different inflammatory condition.
