Relapses and subsequent worsening of disability in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis

summary: This study investigated whether relapses contribute to the development of sustained disability in patients with RRMS, using data from 256 patients. The results showed no consistent evidence that relapses which occurred during the study period of ~2.5 years caused a sustained increase in EDSS (a clinical scale used to measure disability) over this period.
