An investigation of the retinal nerve fibre layer in progressive multiple sclerosis using optical coherence tomography.

summary: This study used OCT to look at the thickness of the retinal nerve fibres in the eye in people with progressive types of MS. They found that people with secondary, and to a lesser extent primary, progressive MS had a thinner nerve fibre layer reflecting loss of axons, which is the process thought to cause disability.
