  Structure of WM bundles constituting the working memory system in early multiple sclerosis: A quantitative DTI tractography study.

summary: The authors, using a recently introduced MRI technique, looked at the mechanisms underlying memory impairment in people with MS. They found that following damage, people’s brains tended to react to increase the number of connections between nerves.
